Home mold testing
Mold in building materials can sometimes be seen or smelled. Using a Bio-Pump Plus, Our inspectors will conduct an indoor and outdoor test for comparison. The inspector will also collect a tape lift sample for visible mold and perform a moisture level test. Our inspector bags photograph, document each sample he receives, and completes’ a chain of custody form. The inspector will draw a map indicating where the samples were collected and return the samples with the chain of custody form to the lab for evaluation.
Results take anywhere from 24 hours to five business days to deliver to you, and it takes anywhere from half an hour to one hour to complete the mold inspection of a home.
Mold air testing
5 Microns Inc offers mold air testing using a mechanical or electric pump with an attached mold trap. Air testing using the above devices allows us to gather more information about the types and species of mold spores and their levels.

The limited mold service call is $369 (specific areas) and $569 for a complete (whole house), including two samples, an inspection, and a complete report. Each additional sample is $60. There may be a small one-way trip fee of $0.65/mile if your address is over 20mi from our office. You will be billed by email once the data is ready. The information will be available in two business days. There will be payment options on the invoice for you to choose from. Our office will forward your report after we’ve received payment. Timing for mold testing
The standard timing for results is two to three business days if delivered to the lab by 2:00 pm; otherwise, the clock starts the next day. We have next-day service available.
Same-day mold testing
Samples must be received by 9 am for same-day mold testing results. Call for a quote for same-day results.

IMPORTANT-MUST READ FIRST: All mail-in samples must have a tracking number and include our general chain of custody form to be processed. If you miss the chain of custody form, your piece (s) will not be accepted and processed. Drop-offs MUST have the COC form inside your package but not in the sample bag. DO NOT MAIL YOUR SAMPLES BY FIRST CLASS MAIL. Send your sample(s) via USPS Priority Mail, UPS, and FedEx. It is essential to closely follow these directions so our asbestos testing lab can promptly process your sample(s).
